Larry Doody Scholarship
The Larry Doody Scholarship is a $500 annual award presented to one graduating high school senior enrolled in the Caribou High School Tech Center who is pursuing a career in the skilled trades. Established in honor of Caribou resident Larry Doody, the scholarship reflects his commitment to community, hands-on work, and helping others. Hosted by the Caribou Snowmobile Club and held on Caribou Lake, the Larry Doody Memorial Radar Run was created in Larry’s honor after his unexpected passing in 2008. To those who knew him, Larry was a well-known community member, a business owner, an avid snowmobiler, and a former President of the Caribou Lions Club, always willing to give back. Proceeds from the Radar Run help support this scholarship and the students it benefits.
Graduating seniors from Caribou and Limestone who are enrolled in the Caribou High School Tech Center are eligible.
The scholarship supports students pursuing careers in the skilled trades, including carpentry, heating, automotive, welding, electrical, and HVAC.
There is no GPA requirement.
The scholarship is presented in late May during the Caribou Tech Center Awards Ceremony and recognized at Caribou High School Senior Night.
Applications are managed through Caribou High School and are shared with seniors each March. Students can apply through the Tech Center using the school’s application process.
If you have questions about eligibility or the application process, please contact the Caribou Snowmobile Club or your high school guidance counselor for assistance.
